Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero, an American actress and singer has been a model for a while. Her most well-known role was co-starring in the film of Prince's Purple Rain and for having been the main singer for the girl group Apollonia 6. It was among the many female artists who benefited of Prince's involvement in the 1980s. She was born Patricia Kotero in Santa Monica California in 1959, her professional career began as a model actress towards the end of the 1970s and included an appearance on the TV show CHiPS. In 1984, she was cast as the title of female lead for Prince's Purple Rain (during which time the singer changed her name) and replaced Vanity in the female duo Vanity 6 which performed in the movie with the title Apollonia 6. She made more of an impact on the charts as Prince's partner in Take Me with You, the duet on the soundtrack. Kotero broke up with Prince when they fell apart over the direction of Apollonia 6. After appearing in minor films (and reportedly refusing to be a part in the Purple Rain film Under the Cherry Moon) She was part of the 1985-1986 show on television called Falcon Crest. Apollonia was finally able to release her debut album in 1988. Unfortunately, it didn't leave a lasting impression on fans of music and she soon faded off the spotlight. Throughout the decade that followed, she remained an active actor, with a few film appearances and small TV shows. In 1997, Apollonia made a record in English and Spanish called Stay With Me. After that, she attended school and earned an education in filmmaking. Then, she started her own production company. Apollonia Kotero is famous as a multi-faceted person. She was a model, singer-actress as well as a talent management manager. Purple Rain, the 1984 film that she was in, was her most well-known role.
